Lighting Matters: Because “Romantic” and “Harsh Overhead Fluorescents” Don’t Mix

Ever been to a wedding where the lighting was so bad it made everyone look like they were in a true crime documentary? It's a bride's nightmare!

Lighting has more than a functional purpose, it's more than the thing that helps you see—it creates a mood.
So when Strawberry Manor, a business located in Ponchatoula, LA asked me to help upgrade their outdoor event lighting, the thought of helping set the mood for so many happy occasions, I figured, why not help set the mood for a lifetime of happy occasions?
No pressure. Just the entire atmosphere of someone’s wedding day riding on the perfect balance of glow and elegance.
The mission?
✔️ Make the outdoor gazebo glow, not glare
✔️ Install chandeliers that say “elegance,” not “interrogation room”
✔️ String lights for a romantic vibe, not a sad dorm room
✔️ Hide every wire so no one trips or has an electrical jungle photobomb their wedding pics
Lighting = Mood (And Mood is Everything)
Want a cozy, intimate feel? Or something bright and bold? Here’s what different lighting choices actually do:
Soft, Warm Lights → The “You Look Amazing” Glow
Great for: Weddings, dining rooms, any place you want to look like a slightly airbrushed version of yourself.
Example: The chandeliers at Strawberry Manor now give off the kind of soft lighting that makes people look good in photos—zero filter needed.
Cool, White Lights → Functional, Not Fun
Great for: Offices, kitchens, places where you need to see everything (but not necessarily like what you see).
Example: Want your home office to feel more like a workspace and less like a nap zone? Bright LEDs are the way to go.
String Lights → Instant Pinterest-Worthy Vibes
Great for: Outdoor spaces, patios, anywhere you want that effortless “I just threw this together” aesthetic (that actually took serious planning).
Example: The gazebo at Strawberry Manor now looks straight out of a wedding magazine, not a backyard barbecue.

Why You Want a Pro
Could you hang some lights yourself? Sure. Will they be perfectly placed, safely installed, and free of random wires messing up your aesthetic? Probably not.
At Strawberry Manor:
✔️ Designed and installed custom lighting that enhances the space
✔️ Ensured zero visible wiring, no one wants an electrical mess in their wedding album
✔️ Created a balanced lighting setup—enough glow to be romantic, but not so dim that guests trip over their own feet
